Houston Children's Charity, as the recipient of toys donated through the Houston area Toys for Tots Program and facilitated by the 1st Battalion 23d Marines, 4th Marine Division, organizes the distribution of over 70,000 toys to Houston area children. The impact the Marines' donation has made on our Christmas programs is nothing short of extraordinary. In 2007, before the Marines' involvement, 940 children received toys for Christmas through our toy distribution. In 2009, 70,000 toys were donated and 15,877 children received toys!

Our Annual Children's Christmas Party treats area children to toys, goodies, entertainment, and a visit for Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children attend with their families and the true spirit of Christmas is celebrated. Our 2009 party was held at the Hyatt Regency Houston and attended by The Cookie Monster, Ninja Turtle, live animals from SeaWorld San Antonio, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Clowns, the Houston Rocket Power Dancers as well as a holiday performance by the children of Houston P.A.L.

Houstonians' generosity continue to shine as we receive more calls and queries than ever from people who want to truly feel the Christmas spirit of giving. Donors shop for the Christmas wish lists of families who otherwise may not have Christmas at all. It is through the successful partnership with Toys for Tots, the 1st Battalion 23d Marines, 4th Marine Division, tireless volunteers and the generous support of our donors that make the true spirit of Christmas real for so many children.
