We measure our success by the number of children whose lives are touched by our efforts each year. Houston Children’s Charity is served by its Founder, President & CEO Laura Ward, and a steadfast Board of Directors who carefully steward the resources of our donors to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of Houston’s children.
With an ambitious goal to leave no legitimate request for assistance unanswered, we seek to expand our base of support through dedicated sponsors and committed volunteers to strengthen our ability to help children. Our supporters come from all walks of life and understand that caring means giving of themselves. There are numerous ways to be a part of our work. ANNUAL TOY DISTRIBUTION SET-UP DAY ONE IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY! 🚚🎁
We kicked off Set-Up Day 1 for the Annual Toy Distribution at the George R. Brown Convention Center — and what an incredible start! ✨
Hear from our superstar volunteer Rob, who is celebrating his 5th year helping bring holiday magic to Houston’s children! 💛
Today we began receiving massive toy deliveries from the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, along with 3 full truckloads of toys stored all year by our amazing partners at Roadmaster Trucking, Inc.. 🚛🎁
Our team and volunteers spent the day sorting toys, organizing sections, and preparing for what will be the LARGEST CHRISTMAS TOY DISTRIBUTION in TEXAS. 🎄🌟

We are incredibly grateful to Andrea Camacho, Vice President of RoadMaster Trucking Inc., for storing three full truckloads of toys from our 2024 Annual Toy Distribution in their warehouse all year — and for delivering everything to the George R. Brown Convention Center today for Set-Up Day One! 💛✨

Dave’s impact on our organization has been PROFOUND—serving on our Advisory Board, lending his trusted voice to our mission, and championing the children we serve with compassion and dedication. His support strengthened our work and uplifted countless families across Houston.
For more than six decades, Dave’s voice shaped Houston’s media landscape. For 50 YEARS, Dave anchored Eyewitness News on ABC Channel 13, becoming Houston’s most trusted voice and a steadfast presence in our community.
