We measure our success by the number of children whose lives are touched by our efforts each year. Houston Children’s Charity is served by its Founder, President & CEO Laura Ward, and a steadfast Board of Directors who carefully steward the resources of our donors to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of Houston’s children.
With an ambitious goal to leave no legitimate request for assistance unanswered, we seek to expand our base of support through dedicated sponsors and committed volunteers to strengthen our ability to help children. Our supporters come from all walks of life and understand that caring means giving of themselves. There are numerous ways to be a part of our work. What an INCREDIBLE start to Signing Days! Today, 33 wheelchair-accessible van recipient families took the next step toward greater independence and mobility. 🎉
From watching their vehicle instructional video, to receiving titles, signing final paperwork, and connecting with the Houston Children’s Charity team — every moment marked the beginning of something truly LIFE-CHANGING. 🤝
You could feel the EXCITEMENT, the EMOTION, and the ANTICIPATION in the room as we count down to van distribution day on March 23rd. ✨

Evan is a joyful and playful child surrounded by the love of his siblings—Isaiah (11), Madelyn (10), Heidi (5), and Caleb (3)—each of whom shares a special bond with him. He loves comfort foods like chicken nuggets, fries, mac and cheese, and chicken alfredo, and enjoys listening to Patch the Pirate musical adventures on repeat. Evan lights up when family visits, when his cat Georgie snuggles beside him, and when he’s with his classmates at school. He enjoys slapstick comedies, car videos on YouTube, and playing hide-and-seek outside. A natural prankster, Evan’s biggest goal is simply to be included and take part in everything alongside his peers. 💖

Jai is a sweet and affectionate child who loves hugs, food, and spending time with his grandma. His favorite meal is bean and cheese nachos, and he enjoys many types of music, especially disco and current top hits. He loves watching game shows like Press Your Luck and Family Feud, as well as Star Wars. Jai enjoys trips, exploring new places, and visiting parks and accessible trails. His favorite toys are his Zoom ball and iPad. One of Jai’s funniest habits is putting stickers on his nose or lips, and he has a special love for Holiday Inn. He is not a morning person and dislikes the “Happy Birthday” song, but his joyful personality and love for adventure make him truly special. 🌟

Dina is a gentle and sweet only child with a quiet but expressive personality. She enjoys listening to nursery rhymes and watching Dora the Explorer. While she doesn’t smile often, she sometimes lights up when her favorite tickle spot is rubbed. Dina is not a fan of early mornings and prefers calm, peaceful moments. One of her funniest traits is giving a playful “mean look” and rolling her eyes when things get too loud, which always makes her family laugh. She also seems to enjoy watching basketball and sharing those moments with her family. Dina’s unique charm makes her truly special. 💖

She loves pizza, spaghetti, Disney music, bubbles, and family playtime, and enjoys watching Vlad and Nicky and Alphabet Lore. Karla dreams of one day walking so she can chase her brothers around the house, and she loves being outside, swinging in the hammock, and playing with toys that light up and make sounds—especially her favorite Violet Smarty Paws. Her home is filled with laughter, creativity, and love.

Corrigan is a spirited and loving young lady who deeply cherishes her brothers, Austin (30) and Tyler (19), who remains forever in her heart. She loves being around her family and finds comfort in shared time together. Corrigan’s favorite food is pizza, and she’s a big fan of Taylor Swift. One of her happiest moments is riding around in a golf cart, and she enjoys watching Outer Banks, which also inspired her dream of one day visiting the Outer Banks herself. Corrigan has a playful (and slightly mischievous) side—especially when she’s upset and might jokingly roll over your feet to make her feelings known. She enjoys football, loves her phone, and is sensitive to too much noise. Weekends are meant for rest, so having to get up and moving early is what bothers her most. 💖

Eliana, lovingly called Ellie, is a bright and driven young girl who shares a close bond with her sisters, Abriella (12) and Aliza (10). They enjoy spending time together, playing games, and supporting one another, with her sisters always ready to lend a helping hand. Ellie loves Asian food, especially sushi and seafood, and enjoys listening to punk rap and rock music. She has a big heart for cats and lights up whenever she’s around them. Ellie enjoys watching YouTube streamers, Stranger Things, and her favorite movie, Coraline. Naturally witty and full of humor, she loves making others laugh. Ellie’s goals include graduating high school with a 4.0 GPA, earning her pharmacy tech certification, and attending a college with a pharmacy program. She finds joy in beautiful scenery, meaningful life experiences, and caring for animals, and is deeply bothered by judgment and mistreatment of animals. 💖
