We measure our success by the number of children whose lives are touched by our efforts each year. Houston Children’s Charity is served by its Founder, President & CEO Laura Ward, and a steadfast Board of Directors who carefully steward the resources of our donors to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of Houston’s children.
With an ambitious goal to leave no legitimate request for assistance unanswered, we seek to expand our base of support through dedicated sponsors and committed volunteers to strengthen our ability to help children. Our supporters come from all walks of life and understand that caring means giving of themselves. There are numerous ways to be a part of our work. HCC CLOSET SHOPPING DAY RECAP 🌟
On Tuesday, we hosted another impactful HCC Closet Shopping Day, and we are so grateful to our AMAZING VOLUNTEERS who helped make it possible. Together, we served 41 FAMILIES & 128 CHILDREN, ensuring they had access to free clothing, essentials, and resources! 🎉

Yesterday, we were honored to welcome Sahil Kancherla, founder of Sugar4Smiles, to our office as he stopped by to pick up his grant check. As part of an EXISTING PARTNERSHIP, Houston Children’s Charity was proud to gift an ORGANIZATIONAL GRANT to support this meaningful work. 🌟
Sugar4Smiles is a nonprofit dedicated to providing FOOD-INSECURE CHILDREN with birthday kits on their SPECIAL DAY—because EVERY CHILD DESERVES the joy of celebrating with their very own birthday cake. 🎂✨

Our New Year HCC Closet Reset Day was truly COMMUNITY IN ACTION! 🎉 We’re so grateful to our 35 volunteers from Lover Girl Run Club for bringing so much HEART, ENERGY & JOY to the day!
From UNPACKING and SORTING donations to DEEP CLEANING and ORGANIZING every shelf, this amazing group helped prepare the HCC Closet to warmly welcome families in 2026. ❤️
A huge thank you to H-E-B for donating 23 SHOPPING CARTS that now support families at the HCC Closet! 🛒🛍️ These carts help create a true shopping experience—allowing parents to move through the space with ease as they select FREE clothing, essentials, and resources for their children!
