We measure our success by the number of children whose lives are touched by our efforts each year. Houston Children’s Charity is served by its Founder, President & CEO Laura Ward, and a steadfast Board of Directors who carefully steward the resources of our donors to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of Houston’s children.
With an ambitious goal to leave no legitimate request for assistance unanswered, we seek to expand our base of support through dedicated sponsors and committed volunteers to strengthen our ability to help children. Our supporters come from all walks of life and understand that caring means giving of themselves. There are numerous ways to be a part of our work. On what would have been Princess Diana's birthday, we're reminded that a shared mission can bring people together from across the world.
In 2005, Houston Children's Charity was honored to welcome The Right Honorable Earl Spencer, brother of Princess Diana, for a special evening benefiting both HCC and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
Earl Spencer recognized the similarities between Diana's humanitarian work and HCC's commitment to helping children in need, a reminder that compassion speaks a universal language.

As Houston Children's Charity celebrates 30 years of service, we remember two founding members whose contributions helped shape the organization from its earliest days.
Don Henderson, founding Board Member and Secretary
Charles Joeckel, founding Houston Children’s Charity's Chairman of the Board
Charles was our founding Chairman of the Board, one of only two in our history. And Don’s contributions were immeasurable, as he helped us navigate and integrate our little charity into the city of its namesake.
Their leadership, generosity, and belief in the mission helped lay the foundation for what Houston Children's Charity would become.
We are grateful for their friendship, their vision, and their lasting legacy.
