The Event Marked the First Public Unveiling of the 2nd Curiosity Cruiser

On Friday, October 25th, 2019 The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation hosted the Power of Literacy Luncheon with Houston Children’s Charity’s President & CEO Laura Ward as well as several Board Members in attendance. The event, which featured Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, also showcased the grand unveiling of the 2nd Curiosity Cruiser. Houston Children’s Charity’s $75,000 donation helped make this mobile library ready for the road to put books into under-served kids’ hands! The first Curiosity Cruiser has:

• Visited 243 locations
• Serviced over 3,500 children
• Traveled over 7,000 miles
• Distributed nearly 19,000 books to disadvantaged kids in high-need neighborhoods
