Welcome, New Board of Directors Member, Kristina H. Somerville!
We are pleased to announce that Kristina H. Somerville has accepted our invitation to join Houston Children’s Charity Board of Directors. We are thrilled that Kristina will assist us in fulfilling our mutual goal of helping our city’s children in need.
Kristina Hornberger Somerville is an asset manager and Chief Investment Officer of Somerville Investments.
Previously Mrs. Somerville was a relationship manager with The Private Bank at J.P. Morgan where she focused on bringing an integrated team of specialists together to advise clients around complicated issues including wealth transfer, investing in alternative and traditional asset classes, philanthropy, and sustaining inter- generational wealth. Kristina has been involved with the financial markets for over twelve years and was a Partner and Associate Research Analyst at Weeden & Co. where she covered the energy industry focusing on Oil and Gas Exploration and Production companies. Her duties included identifying macro trends within the energy sector and producing high quality investment ideas and conclusions for institutional investment managers. Prior to joining Weeden & Co., she worked in Equity Research at Bear Stearns and in Investment Banking at Banc of America Securities. She began her career in Management Consulting at Ernst & Young LLP.
Kristina’s community involvement includes serving as Vice President of the Baylor St. Luke’s Friends of Nursing Board and previously as Membership Co-Chair. She is Co-Chairman of the 2016 Memorial Hermann Razzle Dazzle luncheon which benefits the early detection and outreach programs at the Bobetta Lindig Breast Care Center as well as Co-Chair of the Columbia Business School reunion. For 2017, she is Co-Chairman of the Brookwood Dinner Gala.
Kristina serves on the board of the Texas A&M Library Foundation, is a member of the Junior League of Houston, the American Cancer Society VICTORY group and Community Bible Study. Mrs. Somerville is a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she is a member of the Corporate Development, Mutton Bustin and International committees. She is a Captain and Chair of the International Committee Annual Ladies Luncheon. In addition, Kristina is a Trustee for the Houston Grand Opera where she is a member of both the Finance and Social Committees.
She was previously a member of the Houston Symphony Ball Committee, Zoo Friends, the Menil Contemporaries, the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas Advisory Committee, a volunteer for the Houston SPCA and an American Heart Association CPR Instructor. Kristina was honored as a Fresh Face of Fashion in 2013 and a Houston Sweetheart in 2016. She is an AFAA Certified Aerobics Instructor and Personal Trainer.
Mrs. Somerville holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Business School. She has held the Series 24, 55, 63, 7, 86 and 87 securities licenses.
